Volunteers

Along with a big event, come big needs for people and resources.  New volunteers – individuals, community groups and civic organizations – are being recruited to help with everything from planning and organizing total elements of the event to marshalling and t-shirt sales during the races. 

Volunteers with all types of backgrounds and skills are needed to make the Tour of Somerville Cycling Series a success. You can choose which job and which day(s) you would be interested in helping. No previous experience as a volunteer or with bicycle races is required. Training is provided. You can volunteer to help with:

• selling t-shirts or passing out programs during the races
• registration of cyclists
• marshalling (which involves standing at race course corners to ensure the course is safe and clear for the riders and to allow spectators to cross the race course when riders are not present)
• planning and organizing specific elements of the event
